Registered Nurse Intern Program
Internships available in:
- Critical Care Units: Medical and Cardiovascular areas MICU, CVICU
- Progressive Care Unit PCU
- Emergency Department ED
- Medical-Surgical Departments: Oncology/Medical unit and Orthopedic/Surgical unit
Eligibility
To enter the program, you must be a new graduate of an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate RN program, with a strong desire to work with patients.
About the Program:
- Small classes
- 12 week program
- 8 weeks didactic & Grand Rounds Clinical, 4 weeks Preceptor Directed Learning
ICU and PCU Programs based on CCRN/PCCN review/prep & core curriculum classes.
ED program based on ENA Concepts, Competencies, and Critical Thinking.
MS program will be based on AMSN core curriculum
Classes will include:
Review of systems with specific information for specialty
Participate as a member of a patient care team

You will gain experience with:
- Work one-on-one with a preceptor
- Learn time management skills
- Gain confidence interacting with patients and families
Requirements:
- Official copy of most recent transcript
- Completed Huguley Memorial Medical Center employment application
- Two letters of recommendation from nursing instructors
- Current BLS certification
